How The Agility Playground Came to Be 

Hey there! I'm Lorrie, your go-to coach, instructor, and cheerleader in the world of dog agility. Let me tell you how The Agility Playground came to be and why I'm so passionate about it.

I've been in the dog agility world for over 20 years now, and I've witnessed the incredible relationships that form between handlers and their canine athletes when they are succeeding at agility. But some of the more recent training systems are designed for fast, fit handlers who can run alongside their dogs through every inch of the course. I believe that agility should be a sport for all. It shouldn't discriminate against those who may not fit the traditional mold. That's why I put a strong emphasis on distance work in the membership. Very few instructors are teaching how to work with your dog at a distance, so teams can not only nail the runs in the distance games, but also so the sport remains inclusive and everyone can participate. 

The Agility Playground is my brainchild, born out of a desire to teach fantastic FUNdamentals and show handlers how to communicate effectively and work at a distance from their dogs. Some of my students love to run with their dogs and only use distance on the games. Others, like me, are unable to run, and need the distance skills for every class. I wanted to create a place where dog agility handlers - from newbies to national champions - could come together, build confidence, cheer each other on, and form successful agility teams.

So, whether you're a seasoned handler looking to take your skills to the next level or a complete newbie eager to dive into the exciting world of dog agility, The Agility Playground is the place for you.
