Who created The Agility Playground?
Me! I'm Lorrie Reynolds
I’m the owner of Maximum Fun Dog Sports and I’ve been involved with agility since 2002. My passion is making agility accessible for everyone, regardless of their dog’s breed or age, or the handler’s physical abilities. I strive to make sure that BOTH halves of the team are having fun, building confidence, and learning with positive reinforcement.
This is the part where I give you my “bona fides”, so here goes:
- 15 national championships in 2 venues, winning first through third place with various dogs multiple times.
- Psychology degree, and my “day job” includes instructional design and training for peers, civilians and the military.
- I've taught agility seminars since 2005 focused on communication, handling and distance/independent obstacle performance.
- I taught weekly classes for years for family manners, tricks, and agility.
- I’m involved with the Do More With Your Dog program and am a Certified Trick Dog Instructor, Canine Conditioning and Fitness Coach, Animal Actors Certified Evaluator, and Stunt Dog Judge.
- I am a lifelong learner and am always looking for new things that might help our members.
The Agility Playground is my passion project born of a desire to reach more people than I am able to through in-person seminars. There are too many students who are being told to “just run faster” or “get a different dog” or give up their dreams of agility success (whatever that looks like for them). Based on lessons from my own limitations, I help people find creative ways to reach their goals and build their partnerships with their dogs..

Getting Started
From the very beginning, you'll know where to start with a walkthrough of the membership and navigation instructions, directions to find the right roadmap for your team, and instructions to join the community, figure out how to get tech help, and find answers to common questions.
BEGINNERS
Agility FUNdamentals for Beginners
Start your dog or puppy off right with solid foundations, learn theory and basic handling, figure out the best way to teach your dog obstacles, and start sequencing. This large library of lessons starts from the ground up and helps you build a fantastic team.
LEARNING DISTANCE
Agility FUNdamentals for Distance
Modeled after my most popular seminar, but in much greater depth, this set of lessons starts out similarly to the beginner track, but with an emphasis on independence and distance. Additional categories include common pattern recognition, discriminations, and directionals. Forward and lateral distance exercises, advanced distance skills, and strategies for distance games are upcoming.

Agility Practice Sequences
Once you've learned how to handle your dog and he has learned some of the obstacles, you can start playing with these fun practice sequences. They include basic and advanced exercises with maps and often video to help you visualize what you and your dog should be doing.
COACHING CALLS
Monthly Coaching Calls
Connect with your peers and the instructor during monthly coaching calls. Dive deep into a specific subject and have the opportunity to ask questions about anything in the membership. Past topics have included ring stress, structuring successful training sessions, creating pre- and post-run routines, creating drive and motivation, teaching weaves, and more. Replays are available if you can't make it live.

Monthly Agility Challenges
Stay motivated and test your skills with monthly challenges. Some are simple and based on the lessons. Others are more difficult and are often based on a skill or sequence I'm working on with my own dogs. Challenges give you a chance to show off in the student group, get feedback from the instructor, and push your skills.

I love online learning. There are so many advantages over traditional classes.
- Learn when it’s convenient for you, at your pace - no more struggling to find a class at the right time, or waiting for other teams to reach your level.
